In order to address an ever increasing demand for sponsorship and donations, Mr. Gas Limited started the Mr. Gas Foundation in the summer of 1996.While Mr. Gas Limited had always given generously to various worthwhile causes in the community it lacked a formal procedure for determining which causes should be supported. The Mr. Gas Foundation provided Mr. Gas Limited with a vehicle to provide support to the various communities that we serve in an impartial and consistant manner.Goals:The immediate goals of the Foundation are as follows:

To strengthen and encourage registered Canadian amateur athletic associations, providing that such associations are for children under 18 years of age and that such associations are not limiting in the scope of who or what determines if a child is able to participate (i.e. house & recreational leagues should be considered first); support to these associations will make up approximately 75% of the Foundation's annual budget, with the funds being distributed proportionately among the communities that the Foundation serves.To support on an annual basis major Canadian charities.To support and maintain a fund to provide financial or material relief to the poor, disabled and victims of disasters. Proceeds to this fund will make up approximately 5% of the Foundation's annual budget.

The Mr. Gas Foundation has been able to increase the amount of funds being donated to it's benefactors through the involvement of many of Mr. Gas Limited's suppliers in a number of fundraising activities (golf tournament, ski days and hockey tournaments), donation boxes in the stores and as being an active partner in the Air for Charity program.
